JAG Alcaide has been installing gas boilers in Barcelona and its metropolitan area since 1953. We are an official Junkers Bosch service centre, which means we install, maintain and repair the entire Junkers Bosch range with direct access to original spare parts and the manufacturer’s warranty support. We work exclusively with condensing boilers — the technology that has been mandatory since 2015 for new installations and replacements — from Junkers Bosch and Vaillant.

For a new installation (no previous boiler), where the flue has to be run or the gas supply adapted, we quote individually. What does a JAG Alcaide installation include?
The installation includes dismantling and removing the old boiler if there is one, fitting the new boiler, connecting it to gas, water and electricity, installing or adapting the sealed flue (coaxial pipe), start-up and performance checks.
As an official Junkers Bosch service centre, our installation activates the manufacturer’s full warranty. We keep a record of every installation for any future warranty claim.
Timescales: fixed quote the same day from the photos you send via WhatsApp (a visit within 24-48 hours if needed), and boiler replacement in a single day, normally less than a week after acceptance. In peak season (November-January) it is worth booking ahead.

How much does it cost to install a gas boiler in Barcelona?
The total price (unit + installation + VAT) depends on the model and the complexity of the installation. As a guide, with installation and VAT included and a standard replacement: Junkers Bosch GC1200W 20/24 for €1,600, Condens 4300i W 24/30 for €2,200, Condens 6000 W from €2,320 and Vaillant ecoTEC Intro from €2,070. For new installations (no previous boiler) the price is higher because the flue has to be installed from scratch and sometimes the gas supply adapted. The quote is fixed and we usually give it to you from photos via WhatsApp; if a visit is needed, it is free — no surprises.
What is the difference between the GC1200W, the Condens 4300i and the Condens 6000?
The GC1200W is Junkers Bosch’s entry-level range: the same condensing technology, fewer options and a more basic finish, at the keenest price; for most standard Barcelona flats it is more than enough. The Condens 4300i adds a higher hot-water flow rate and compatibility with the CT200 smart thermostat. The Condens 6000 is the top of the range: maximum efficiency, more power outputs, and ready for underfloor heating and zoned systems. For large homes, underfloor heating, or anyone who wants maximum efficiency and connectivity, the 6000 is the right choice.
Is a condensing boiler compulsory?
Yes. Since Royal Decree 1027/2007 (RITE) and its updates, new installations and replacements must use condensing boilers. Every model we install is a condensing boiler. If you have an old open-flue (atmospheric) boiler, you cannot replace it with another atmospheric model — you have to switch to condensing.
What is the gas installation certificate?
The gas installation certificate (“boletín”) is the document that certifies the installation complies with current regulations. Without it, the gas distributor (Naturgy or Endesa, depending on the area) will not activate or reactivate the supply. Processing it is not included in the boiler price; if your installation requires it, we say so in the quote and explain how it is handled.
How long does the installation take?
Replacing an existing boiler is normally completed in one day. A new installation (no previous boiler) may take two days if building work is needed for the flue or the gas supply has to be adapted. We confirm the exact timescale in the quote.
Do you offer maintenance after the installation?
Yes. We offer an annual maintenance contract that includes the mandatory inspection, cleaning of the unit and labour cover for breakdowns. It is especially advisable in the first year to pick up any adjustment needed after the installation. See maintenance contracts →
