The contract makes particular sense if the unit is more than 3 years old, if it runs intensively (more than 6 months a year), or if no service has been carried out since installation. For units still under manufacturer warranty, annual maintenance is also a condition for keeping that warranty valid.

The service includes a refrigerant circuit check and electronic leak detection. If a leak is found and a gas recharge is needed, this is handled as a separate intervention and quoted accordingly, as refrigerant gas costs vary by type and volume required.
