What does JAG Alcaide’s installation include?

Installation includes fitting the indoor and outdoor units, running the refrigerant pipe and electrical cable, charging the refrigerant, commissioning the system and setting up the remote controls. If the building already has a pre-installation (a conduit already in place through the wall), the work is faster and less expensive. If there is no pre-installation, we assess the cleanest and most discreet pipe route from the photos.

As official Mitsubishi Electric installers, we register the installation so the manufacturer’s warranty is activated and give you all the paperwork. We keep a record of the installation for any future warranty claims.

How much does it cost to install a Mitsubishi Electric air conditioner in Barcelona?

The price of each model is in the list above and it is fixed: it includes the unit, standard installation with up to 3 m of piping and VAT. Mitsubishi Electric units start at €1,290. If your home needs anything extra, we tell you before we start, based on a few photos sent by WhatsApp; we only visit if needed, at no cost.

What is the difference between the HR and AY series?

The MSZ-HR series is Mitsubishi Electric’s entry-level range: reliable, quiet and efficient, without advanced connectivity features. The MSZ-AY series includes built-in Wi-Fi as standard, MELCloud smartphone app control and higher energy efficiency (A+++ rated). If remote control from your phone or energy saving is a priority, the AY series is the right choice. If you want reliable performance at a more affordable price, the HR is more than sufficient.

Do I need a pre-installation to install air conditioning?

No, but it simplifies the work and reduces installation costs. A pre-installation is a conduit already in place through the wall that allows the refrigerant pipe to pass without any building work. If there is no pre-installation, we run the pipe along the exterior wall or inside a trunking, whichever is most suitable. We assess this from the photos or, if needed, on a free visit.

Is a multi-split better than two separate splits?

It depends on the situation. A multi-split has a single outdoor unit (advantageous on facades with restrictions or limited space), but output is shared between the indoor units. Two separate splits allow completely independent control of each room and are generally more efficient when both zones are running at full power simultaneously. We advise you based on your specific situation from the photos you send.

Do you carry out servicing and repairs?

Can you install on buildings with facade restrictions?

Yes. This is very common in Barcelona, particularly in the Eixample and in old town buildings. We work with alternative locations for the outdoor unit (interior courtyards, rooftops, terraces) and with pipe runs that minimise visual impact on the facade. In buildings with strict residents’ association rules, we review the options before committing to any work.
