Who is the ecoTEC plus VMW 36CS/1-5 for?
It is Vaillant’s mid-range condensing boiler: more efficient and better equipped than the ecoTEC pure, with a touch screen and app control. It uses the existing gas connections, so the replacement is usually quick.
- IoniDetect: adjusts combustion to the gas type by itself.
- Flat design and touch screen; app control.
- High modulation: runs at low output when the home needs little heat.
- Compatible with blends of up to 20% hydrogen and with hybrid systems (solar or heat pump).

How to read the specifications
- 32.6 kW heating
- Maximum output for the radiators. With the floor area and photos of the radiators we check it is right before confirming it.
- 35.6 kW hot water
- According to Vaillant, it delivers 17 litres per minute with the water heated by 30 °C: enough for two or more bathrooms, with showers at the same time.
- Condensing
- It recovers heat from the steam in the flue gases, which is why it needs a drain for the condensate.
- 94% seasonal efficiency
- Average space-heating efficiency over the year, according to the manufacturer.

What can change the price
The price includes removing the old boiler and a standard room-sealed flue. The following are quoted separately, in writing and before we start:
- A long flue run or one that does not meet current regulations.
- A condensate drain if there is none nearby.
- Moving the boiler to another place.
- A Wi-Fi thermostat or programmer, if not included.
- Cleaning the circuit or replacing radiators and valves.

Are there grants for replacing the boiler? It depends on the call currently open in Catalonia. If there is one, we provide the installation documents.
