Junkers Bosch Tronic 5501i T electric water heater from 50 to 120 litres, reversible, Wi-Fi.
The price includes the water heater, VAT, removal of the old one, fitting and commissioning. It is installed by our own technicians; quote via WhatsApp from photos and, only if needed, a free visit in Barcelona and the metropolitan area.
Who is the Tronic 5501i T for?
It is Junkers Bosch’s flat electric water heater with Wi-Fi: you control it from your phone with the HomeCom Easy app. It is shallow, can be hung vertically or horizontally and comes in 50 to 120 litres. It suits you if you want to switch it on, programme it or change mode without touching the unit, for example when it sits inside a cupboard or in a false ceiling.

- Four modes: Smart (adapts to your usage habits), Eco, manual and programmed, which can be combined with the Boost function.
- Twin tank: the first shower is ready sooner.
- Display with 6 touch keys that adapts to the position of the water heater, plus an illuminated ring showing the actual capacity available.
- Energy class B in every capacity and a magnesium anode to protect the tank.

As a guide, with normal showers. If there is a bathtub or several showers in a row, go up one size. The 80-litre model is wider but shorter than the 70-litre one (769 vs 986 mm high): if the space is tight on height, it may fit better. Choose the capacity in the selector: the price updates with installation and VAT.

The 4501 T and the 5501i T share the flat format, twin tank, power, energy class and heating times; the 5501i T costs a little more depending on capacity. If you will not use your phone, the 4501 T does the same job. If you want to control it with the app, choose the 5501i T. And if the space takes a round water heater standing upright, the 2000 T is the cheapest.

How to read its technical data
- Energy class B
- The same in all five capacities, measured with load profile M on the label. Label consumption: between 1,293 kWh a year (50 L) and 1,312 kWh (100 L).
- 1.5 kW power
- All capacities have the same heating element, so the bigger water heaters take longer to heat up.
- Heating time
- From 10 to 60 °C, according to Bosch: 126 min for the 50 L, 189 min for the 70 L, 252 min for the 80 L, 256 min for the 100 L and 342 min for the 120 L.
- Mixed water at 40 °C (V40)
- The water at shower temperature you get from a hot tank: 89 L from the 50, 111 L from the 70, 114 L from the 80, 135 L from the 100 and 174 L from the 120.

What can change the price
The price includes removal of the old water heater, fitting and commissioning using the existing installation. The following are quoted separately, in writing and before we start:
- A new socket or a line from the consumer unit, if there is no suitable socket nearby.
- Running the safety valve outlet to a drain, if there is none nearby.
- A pressure reducer, if the building supply pressure is higher than the water heater accepts.
- Moving the water heater or changing its position (from vertical to horizontal) with new piping.
- Special brackets for plasterboard or a false ceiling, or a hard-to-reach location.

What is the Wi-Fi on the Tronic 5501i T for? To control the water heater from your phone with the HomeCom Easy app: change mode, adjust the temperature or set schedules without going near the unit. Your home Wi-Fi needs to reach the spot where the water heater goes; we check this from the photos or, if needed, on a visit.
How much does the Tronic 5501i T cost installed? From 540€ for the 50-litre model to 790€ for the 120-litre one, including VAT, removal of the old water heater, fitting and commissioning. The 80-litre model, for two or three people, costs 590€.
Can it be installed horizontally? Yes. It is reversible: it hangs vertically or horizontally and the display adapts to the position. This is handy in false ceilings, lofts or above the washing machine.
What is the difference from the Tronic 4501 T? They share the same flat format, twin tank, class B and heating times. The 5501i T adds Wi-Fi with the HomeCom Easy app and the illuminated display ring, and costs a little more (590€ vs 570€ for 80 litres). The 4501 T also comes in a 30-litre version.
How long does it take to heat the water? According to Bosch, heating from 10 to 60 °C takes 126 minutes for the 50-litre model and 252 minutes for the 80-litre one. Thanks to the twin tank, the first shower is ready sooner.
