Who is the Tronic 2000 T horizontal for?
It is the horizontal version of the Tronic 2000 T: a cylindrical water heater 440 mm in diameter that hangs lying down. It suits you when there is not enough height for a vertical water heater and it has to go in a loft space, above a door, over the washing machine or in an accessible false ceiling. It comes in 50, 75 and 100 litres.

If the space takes a 440 mm cylinder, the 2000 T horizontal is the most affordable way to have the water heater lying down. If space is tight, the flat 4501 T and 5501i T take up less depth, are class B and can also hang vertically; the 5501i T adds Wi-Fi. If the water heater can stand upright after all, the vertical Tronic 2000 T costs less (430€ for 75 litres).

How to read its technical data
- Energy class C
- Label consumption: 1,400 kWh a year for the 50-litre model and 1,408 kWh for the 75-litre one (load profile M), and 2,743 kWh for the 100-litre one (profile L).
- 1.5 kW power
- All capacities have the same heating element, so the bigger water heaters take longer to heat up.
- Heating time
- To raise the water temperature by 50 °C, according to Bosch: 1 h 56 min (50 L), 3 h 05 min (75 L) and 3 h 55 min (100 L).
- Mixed water at 40 °C (V40)
- The water at shower temperature you get from a hot tank: 65 litres from the 50, 94 litres from the 75 and 137 litres from the 100.
- Weight when full
- 100 kg for the 75-litre model and 124 kg for the 100-litre one, according to Bosch. That is why we check that the wall or ceiling can take it before hanging it.
- Maximum pressure 8 bar
- If the building supply pressure is higher, a pressure reducer is needed. We check this from the photos or, if needed, on a visit.
What can change the price
The price includes removal of the old water heater, fitting and commissioning using the existing installation. The following are quoted separately, in writing and before we start:
- Special brackets or fixings if the wall or ceiling is plasterboard or cannot take the weight of the full water heater.
- A hard-to-reach location: closed loft spaces, false ceilings with a small hatch or work at height.
- Moving the water heater or changing its position (from vertical to horizontal) with new piping.
- A new socket or a line from the consumer unit.
- Running the safety valve outlet to a drain, and a pressure reducer if the supply exceeds 8 bar.

Frequently asked questions about the TR2000T 50HB
Can it be installed vertically? No, this model is horizontal only. For vertical there is the Tronic 2000 T, from 380€, and if you want a water heater that works in both positions, the flat Tronic 4501 T, from 480€.
