Heating installation in Barcelona
Condensing boilers, underfloor heating, radiators and heat pumps. We tell you which system suits your home and give you a fixed quote via WhatsApp from a few photos.
Solutions for every home
At JAG Alcaide we have been installing heating systems in Barcelona since 1953. We work with all currently available technologies — gas boilers, underfloor heating and aerothermal systems — and advise you on the best option for your home, consumption and budget.
We are official Junkers Bosch installers and all our technicians hold a Category A gas licence issued by the Departament d’Empresa i Coneixement of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Before recommending a system we look at your home with you, usually from the photos or video you send us via WhatsApp: the size, the bathrooms, the orientation and what you have installed now. We calculate the heating output room by room following the Spanish Regulation on Thermal Installations in Buildings (RITE) and give you a fixed written quote before we start. If you want designer radiators or pipework hidden as much as possible, we plan for it from the outset.
In the following tabs you can see the main options we offer you.
Which heating system is right for your home in Barcelona?
| System | Best for | Installation cost | Running cost |

| Underfloor heating | New builds or full renovations. Maximum comfort and efficiency combined with aerothermal or condensing boiler. | €50–80/m² | Low |
| Aerothermal heat pump | Renovations or new builds. Replaces boiler + A/C + DHW in a single unit. Grants depending on the current call. | €6,000–14,000 (grants depending on the call) | Very low |

The main options that we offer you
At JAG Alcaide we have been official approved Junkers Bosch installers in Barcelona since 1953 — over 70 years working with this brand because it consistently delivers the best results. This means we know every model inside out, we can anticipate problems, and we offer real, specific advice rather than generic recommendations.
We install condensing boilers for all types of property: flats with a single bathroom, large homes with high hot water demand, urgent replacements and new builds. Before recommending any model, we review your current installation from your photos (or on a visit, if needed), the number of radiators, bathrooms and typical usage. The aim is to match you with the right output — not oversell capacity you do not need.
As an official Junkers Bosch service centre, we manage warranties directly with the manufacturer and have immediate access to original parts and replacements.
Underfloor heating is the most efficient domestic heating system available. It heats from the floor upwards, distributing warmth evenly throughout the room with no draughts and no cold spots. It operates at lower water temperatures than conventional radiators, making it particularly well suited to condensing boilers and aerothermal heat pumps.
We install it in new builds and full renovations where the floor is being lifted. It is not a viable option in finished properties without building work, but whenever structural work is planned it is the system we consistently recommend for long-term performance.
The installation is calculated room by room, taking into account the orientation of the property, exterior walls and the intended use of each space. The layout is designed around the planned floor finishes.
Electric thermal emitters are the solution for properties or commercial spaces without a gas supply, where building work is not possible, or where independent heating is needed in a specific area without connecting it to the central system.
They are independent electric units fitted on the wall of each room. Current models allow hourly programming and ambient temperature control, so you only heat the rooms you use, when you use them.
We install them in both residential and commercial properties. Since no gas installation or building work is required, installation time is minimal and the impact on the property is virtually zero.
Any heating or hot water installation running on gas requires the supply line and internal pipework to be fully compliant: correct pressure, approved materials, accessible shut-off valves and a valid legalisation certificate.
At JAG Alcaide we carry out new gas installations, modifications to existing systems and official legalisation procedures. All our technicians hold a Category A gas installer licence — the highest qualification available in Spain — which authorises us to work on any type of installation regardless of pressure or complexity.
Whether you are replacing a boiler, carrying out a renovation or simply need a technician to inspect and certify your gas installation, we also handle all necessary paperwork with the distribution company when required.

Why choose JAG Alcaide for your heating
We are an installation company from Gràcia with more than 70 years of history and our own team: the technicians who install your boiler are the same ones who will come back for the annual service. We do not work with commission-based salespeople. All our installers hold the Generalitat de Catalunya’s category A gas certification, we are official approved Junkers Bosch and Vaillant installers, and we give you a fixed written quote before starting. We know Barcelona’s buildings (old risers, light wells, facade flues in Eixample and Gràcia blocks) because we have been working in them for decades.
Frequently asked questions
Gas boiler or heat pump?
If you already have gas and radiators, a condensing boiler is the fastest and most economical option (from €1,600 installed). A heat pump pays off in full renovations, new builds or homes with underfloor heating, and with the current grants. We compare them in natural gas vs air source heat pump in Barcelona.
When is it worth replacing the heating?
When the boiler is more than 15 years old, breaks down every winter or consumption has shot up. There are grants for replacing a boiler in Barcelona that are worth checking before you decide; we explain them when you ask for a quote and on the boiler installation page.
Do you do the complete installation or just the boiler?
Everything: boiler, radiators or underfloor heating, pipework, gas installation, certificate and start-up. If building work is involved, we also coordinate masonry and finishes as part of our integral renovations.
